  1. STAGES uses the duration of the seminiferous epithelium, in days,
  2. in its computations.  Each animal has associated with it a default
  3. cycle length, given in the literature.  Under certain experimental
  4. conditions, the cycle duration may be altered.
  5.  
  6. To test for changes in the cycle duration, a new cycle length, in
  7. days, can be entered if so desired.  Continued substitution of
  8. new cycle lengths, until the predicted data match the observed
  9. data, can lead to an estimation of the altered cycle length.
